JUST FOUND OUT THE FOLLOWING, PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR LANE, Sat. 9/3/05 - posted -6 pm central time

Lane Pearce was diagnosed with acute leukemia on August 3, 2005. He began intense treatment immediately. His prognosis is uncertain.
A card would be nice and you may give blood at your local hospital to have it credited to Lane Pearce, RM 718, Robert Lipshey U.T. S.W. University Hospital, 5151 Harry Hines Blvd., Dallas, TX 75390. This credit will help offset some of the cost of the 3 months of treatment that lie ahead for Lane, even though his health insurance should cover much of it.
It goes without saying that a card and a prayer will go a long way in helping keep Lane's spirits and those of his family high.
This is an unfortunate, but rare opportunity for the gun people to come together and support one of their own who is in distress. If you know Lane, you know that he is a wonderful guy with strong American ideals and family values; the kind of guy you'd want for your neighbor and friend; the kind of guy you could always count on.
Please forward to others in the industry who might want to support Lane.
you may phone Lane at his room, (214) 590-3718 or his cell (same location) at (817) 917-0063.

Relief workers confront 'urban warfare'
Violence disrupts evacuation, rescue efforts in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CNN) -- Violence disrupted relief efforts Thursday in New Orleans as authorities rescued desperate residents still trapped in the flooded city and tried to evacuate thousands of others living among corpses and human waste.

DISCLAIMER:
THIS COMMENTARY AS WELL AS ALL MY PREVIOUS COMMENTARIES ARE MY PERSONAL OPINION ONLY AND WHEN I QUOTE SOME ONE IT IS COPIED AND PASTED FROM A PUBLIC CHAT ROOM OR A PUBLIC FORUM OR A NEWS PROGRAM OR SOME OTHER PUBLIC DOMAIN.

If you have followed my past commentaries for any length of time you will realize that I have told you to prepare for hard times. You may not like me, I don't really give a damn as I am trying to help all of you. I am not trying to win a popularity contest. I have no agenda but I am just telling you what I see and have no doubt in my mind that this disaster that has come to New Orleans is just the tip of the ice berg that I have been trying to tell you about.

OUR ENEMIES AROUND THE WORLD HAVE NOW SEEN HOW INCOMPETANT OUR GOVERNMENT AND OUR LEADERS REALLY ARE. If you do not believe me then go to the various news websites and start reading. Go to foreign websites and see how they are gloating and are happy as we are in misery. I am quite upset to see Americans of all kinds begging for water and the basics when the fat cats in DC and all around the country sit down to a nice meal in a nice restaurant. I am not here to blame anyone in particular because I personally believe that the corruption starts at the local level and goes straight on up.

THERE IS NO MORE NEW ORLEANS. I was almost killed there once as I was just outside the city driving on a main highway behind a car pulling a boat when the boat broke away from the bumper hitch on the car in front of me and it missed me by a foot or two. Everything happens to me as I was almost killed by lighning in Texas in 1983. BUT I AM STILL HERE AND I NEVER GIVE UP.

G-D has turned his protection away from America, my opinion only. It does not matter one bit to me what your religion is because in the end you will find out that there is only one G-D. The ACLU has helped destroy this country along with many court decisions banning prayers in school and I could go on and on and on but I am quite sick enough seeing the destruction of America just starting. This is not a game and the fun is over, either you get serious and prepare for the day after or you are finished.

What will all of you do without your cell phones in your ear. What will you do when you can not find any GASOLINE FOR YOUR SUV OR TRUCK OR VAN, etc. I remember the long gas lines of the 1970's, I was on line for hours. I was living in the state of Florida then and when I was 18 years old I remember gas was 10.9 cents per gallon. Talking about the depression around the WW II era I remember that my father and mother were broke and my mother fought with my father to take the only nickle (5 cents) they had so he could buy an apple for lunch.

Gas was rationed during the WW II era and we had ration books. Tires were not available, and official agency workers came to our apartment in Brooklyn collecting empty metal food cans for the government for re use of some kind. I am telling you the truth. When a candy store got in a supply of bubble gum all the kids in the neighborhood ran there and within hours the gum was gone. We had nothing.

I can not think of any official other than TOM DELAY that I have faith in to do the right thing. Our problems are going to intensify and we must start to stock up on food and water and the very basics immediately. I am not leaving Texas alive. I want you to plan on the three calibers I have been harping about for a very long time. I am thrilled that you like your 38 super semi auto and your 9x23 semi auto but they will never be the logical choice for a survival weapon.

I am still telling you to get a rifle that is chambered in 22 long rifle. I don't care if its a MARLIN or a RUGER or a REMINTON, etc, etc. It does not matter one bit to me. I don't care if your wife does not want a gun in your house, then leave it at some one elses place for now. How will you protect your family and property with a rubber band gun or a linoleum gun, and I guess most of you have no clue what a linoleum gun is. I am giving you straight honest advice, go to your local store and buy a 22 long rifle caliber rifle for about $100.00 because its better than nothing. Buy bricks of ammunition most anywhere. There are 500 rounds in a brick.

You can buy any brand you want, I like some better than others and think that the CCI stinger bullets are extremely destructive on impact providing they are used in a rifle because of the slow burning powder the Speer people use in its manufacture. Another good rimfire bullet are the Remington Yellow Jackets or even the Winchesters or the Federals, it does not matter. When the cities are devasted the Police will stay home and protect their very own families and property, I don't blame them. WHO WILL YOU CALL FOR HELP ON YOUR NON WORKING CELL PHONE ?? WHO WILL YOU CALL, THE ACLU ?? GET REAL BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.

I am convinced that you should have a 9mm pistol with plenty of high capacity magazines and plenty of 9mm ammunition for use and for BARTER. Do not dismiss this caliber because of what you have read from the BS artists, that think you need a 1911 to survive. You get no velocity out of a short barrel 45 acp pistol unless you are using an ultra fast burning powder. Its all BS. That is you you want a big blast that will give you 650 to 750 feet per second, then go for it. My 9mm 100 grain Powerball bullet in my GLOCK or HK P7 is about 1475 feet per second and the foot pounds of energy are about 483.

For those that can afford an AR15 or a Ruger mini 14 in 223 Remington caliber (5.56 mm) that is what I personally like. I do not care if you do not agree with me, I am trying to guide you through survival options, you must make your very own decisions. It does not matter to me if you have a Colt or a Bushmaster or an Olympic Arms or whatever, as long as it works.

To sum it up I think the three most important calibers are 22 long rifle, and then 9mm and then 223 rem. There is no way the average person can stock up and use every caliber made. Most people will need their cash for gas and food and water. YOU CAN BARTER EXTRA AMMO FOR WHAT OTHERS HAVE. YOU CAN NOT RELY ON THE GOVERNMENT, YOU HAVE SEEN THAT THIS WEEK.

Buy ENSURE or BOOST or MRE's and start to get what you can afford now. Buy canned food and dried fruit and everything that you can store. The medical facilities in Houston, Texas are boiling over. There are so many things you need for your very survival such as extra eye glasses and medication.

Get your survival plan into action now, do you really think these authorities will help you, I hope this week that passed has opened your eyes. Banks will be closed, ATM machines will not work, cell phones and land lines will not work, how much clearer can I get. I have been very sick this week seeing the beginning of the destruction of our society and what worries me even more is that our enemies are watching all this and will capitalize on our weaknesses.

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT THE AUTHORITIES WILL REALLY TELL YOU HOW MANY DEAD THERE REALLY ARE ?? GET REAL, YOU WILL NEVER KNOW. It will become your responsibility to survive. MICHAEL SAVAGE is right when he said they should use VACATED ARMY BASES TO HOUSE THE HOMELESS. MICHAEL IS RIGHT WHEN HE SAYS TO STOP PAYING MONEY TO OTHER COUNTRIES LIKE 16 "BILION" TO AFRICA AND 50 MILLION TO THE PALESTINIANS THAT HATE US. GO TO www.michaelsavage.com

FOLLOWING IS A PERSONAL EMAIL FROM A FRIEND:

Teddy, Good thing:
I replaced my stock Kahr P9 magazine baseplates with Pearce grip extenstions (you have seen that I have bighands).

Big problem:
the Pearce baseplate locking tab is thin flimsy plastic and is not stiff enough to prevent the baseplate from being pushed/jarred forward off the magazine.
I found that a blow on the back of the magazine base causes the baseplate to pop off where upon the spring and rounds drop out.

Drop your pistol?
It might be a single-shot when you pick it up.

Speed reload?
I can't and you probably can't stuff a fresh mag into the empty mag shell still in your pistol.

What to do?
Re-install the Pearce grip extensions with the Kahr locking plates. Took a couple of times of one of my mags coming apart before I realized what the problem/solution was.I have e-mailed Pearce tonight; update when they answer.
Warmest regards,/Don
