Products I would buy

WELCOME TO THE NO BS ZONE OF TEDDY JACOBSON

DISCLAIMER:
THIS COMENTARY AS WELL AS ALL MY PREVIOUS COMMENTARIES ARE MY PERSONAL OPINION AND MY PERSONAL VIEWPOINT ONLY. ANY TIME I QUOTE SOME ONE IT HAS BEEN COPIED AND PASTED FROM EITHER A CHAT ROOM OR A FORUM OR A PUBLIC DOMAIN. ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR FIRST AND SECOND AMMENDMENT RIGHTS.

This commentary is going to anger many people but if I cared I would not write it. There are so many products out there its unreal, how does the average working man with limited hard earned money know what to buy. Certainly not from the high dollar advertisers or from the chat rooms or the self professed "EXPOITS" that are a legend in there own mind. Some of these people are just an embarrassment to my field. A person with limited experience can "NOT" tell you what I can.
First I will put up some websites for you to see and then get down to brass tacks.

This is another blogger of mine. I have many bloggers that you are not aware of, and I will add more.

Handguns:
Let me start with the 1911 first and then just go down the list. This will not be in any particular order as I have no written script. I AM NOW REFERRING TO CURRENT PRODUCTION HANDGUNS OF THE BROWNING DESIGN.

KIMBER: I would not purchase any product they make.

COLT: I would only give their model "XSE" any consideration. They still are having trouble installing plunger tubes and front sights as some are loose, guess 90 plus years is not long enough to learn how to do it correctly. MY OPINION, SEE DISCLAIMER. Gold Cup rear sight pin keeps breaking.

SPRINGFIELD ARMORY: I would only buy their 1911 Mil-Spec handgun at a price of approx. $400.00

KAHR: (1911) Never saw one so I can not comment.

PARA ORDNANCE: There is not one product that they make that I would buy. Try taking an "LDA" apart completely and re assemble it.

DAN WESSON: There is not one product that I would buy.

SIG SAUER: I would not buy one of their 1911 pistols.

S&W: They do not have a 1911 that I would buy as I have worked on them and understand what shortcuts they have taken. Try buying an extractor for this model. SEE DISCLAIMER.

BAER: Not worth $2000.00 for what they give you and the internal workmanship is poor at best. MY OPINION ONLY, SEE DISCLAIMER.

WILSON: I have not seen any current production models. I can not comment.

ROCK RIVER ARMS: I have not seen or worked on a current model so I can not comment.

BROWN: Its been awhile since I have seen one of these high dollar 1911 pistols, so I can not give you a fair opinion.

STI: I would not personally own one of these pistols.

PHILIPPINE MADE 1911's: I would not spend one dime on these guns, my opinion only.

If I have left any out please email me and I will respond.

REVOLVERS:

S&W: There is not one revolver that I would buy in their current line.

TAURUS: There is not one revolver that I would buy in their current line.

DAN WESSON: There is not one revolver in their current line I would buy.

RUGER: I would buy any of their line of revolvers as they have not cut any corners to cheapen their product that I have seen.

NAA: There line of mini revolvers are still first rate. I would buy them.

COLT: There is not one Colt revolver that I would be interested in buying at this time.

SEMI AUTO PISTOLS:

S&W: There is not but one third generation pistol that I would buy even though they have cheapened all their products. I would buy the SW 3913 - 9mm pistol. My opinion only. They use plastic disconnectors in their 3 rd generation pistols. SEE DISCLAIMER

RUGER: I would not buy any current production, center fire - Ruger semi auto pistol. THE RUGER MARK II OR THE 22/45 IS THE VERY BEST AND MOST RELIABLE 22 CALIBER RIMFIRE PISTOL ON THE MARKET. There are many after market parts available for this pistol.

COLT: I have no interest in buying any semi auto that they make.

KAHR: I have no interest in buying any product that they make. My opinion only.

SA - "XD": This pistol has potential, if they would make the extractor easier to remove and replace I would buy one. If corrected and if they can get production levels up this pistol will give Glock a run for their money.

GLOCK: I am very partial to all Glock products. I carry a Glock 19 daily and I have total faith in its ability to work flawlessly every time.

HK: Some of these are my favorite pistols. The P7 is the best 9mm on the planet although out of current production. Their USP is a working gun that is good but you can not change the recoil spring your self as it is captivated and must be done by the factory.

SIG SAUER: Being left handed these pistols are not for me. All current production handguns have been equipped with MIM parts to save money, my opinion only. This is the only current semi auto that uses a hammer reset design and I would not buy one for myself. The company does not sell to wholesalers anymore, they only sell to stocking dealers and the new President of Sig is an ex employee of Kimber.

BERETTA: I still like the Beretta 92f and the Beretta Cougar in 9mm only. I do not like the small Beretta pistols. This company has cheapened their guns also by using plastic triggers and plastic guide rods, etc, etc. I do not like their small semi auto's.

NAA GUARDIAN: I like this small handgun. There have been a few problems with the 380 size frame where as the take down latch has some problems but they will correct it as NAA is very reliable. They need to replace their "E" ring to a snap ring. I would and have bought the smaller version in 25 NAA caliber.

BROWNING: I still think the BHP is John Brownings best design and I would not hesitate to but any one that is assembled in Portugal and the parts are made in Belgium.

KELTEC: I do not work on this pistol. I do not like it. My opinion only.

TAURUS: I have no interest in owning a Taurus semi auto at any price.

CZ PISTOLS: I have no interest in owning one of these pistols as they are crude inside, my opinion only.

MAKAROV: This is without a doubt one of the best handguns for the money that anyone could buy. It is super accurate and reliable.

WALTHER: I own one very old Walther PPK/S and they do not make one handgun in current production that would ever interest me to buy. In my opinion the plastic they use is poor at best.

If I have left anything out please let me know.

HANDGUN GRIPS:

My very first choice for well made grips has always been HOGUE. I like their wood grips for revolvers and you can check out their catalog. I do not use their cheap rubber revolver grips.

You can go to www.brownells.com They offer a nice selection of grips of all kinds. I do not like or buy thick wooden grips for myself, for any of my semi autos. I like to thin out the original plastic grips for myself such as on the Beretta 92f. I also like the Navradex grips made in the Philippines. I like the slim tech grips and also all grips made of G10 Laminate with a secure texture.

SHOTGUNS:

I am certainly no expert on shotguns but I have owned many. For what my needs are a Remington or Winchester or even a Mossberg would be satisfactory. I have always felt that the Ithaca model 37 which I understand is no longer being made was one of the very best.

RIFLES:

I consider the following 3 bolt action rifles made well enough for any of my needs.

WINCHESTER: Model 70

REMINGTON: Model 700

SAVAGE: The rifle with the new trigger design interests me.

RIMFIRE RIFLES: THE VERY BEST 22 CALIBER RIMFIRE RIFLE I CAN RECOMMEND IS THE RUGER 10/22. IT IS A FLAWLESS RIFLE FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. Many after market parts are available for this classic model. I also like the Rem. 597 but have not used it enough to comment on.

ASSAULT WEAPONS:

I still think that the BUSHMASTER is the way to go in current production AR-15 type rifles for the money. I would only buy it in 223 rem. cal. (5.56mm)

AMMUNITION:

I would only buy American made ammunition and if I could not get it I would look for IMI which is ISRAELI made ammunition.

SCOPES AND OPTICS:

I have narrowed this field of optics down real quick through the years. I buy LEUPOLD scopes and my second choice is NIKON. If I am looking for Binoculars and it is over 8 power they must have IMAGE STABILIZER TECHNOLOGY or I do not want them. I would buy Canon.

If I have left anything out that you may have an interest in please email me at tjacobson@houston.rr.com
