CIA’S GOSS REPORTEDLY WARNED ANKARA OF IRANIAN THREAT
During his recent visit to Ankara, CIA Director Porter Goss reportedly brought three dossiers on Iran to Ankara. Goss is said to have asked for Turkey’s support for Washington’s policy against Iran’s nuclear activities, charging that Tehran had supported terrorism and taken part in activities against Turkey. Goss also asked Ankara to be ready for a possible US air operation against Iran and Syria. Goss, who came to Ankara just after FBI Director Robert Mueller’s visit, brought up Iran’s alleged attempts to develop nuclear weapons. It was said that Goss first told Ankara that Iran has nuclear weapons and this situation was creating a huge threat for both Turkey and other states in the region. Diplomatic sources say that Washington wants Turkey to coordinate with its Iran policies. The second dossier is about Iran’s stance on terrorism. The CIA argued that Iran was supporting terrorism, the PKK and al-Qaeda. The third had to do with Iran’s alleged stance against Ankara. Goss said that Tehran sees Turkey as an enemy and would try to “export its regime.”

There is a great deal more to be said for cleaning a handgun or rifle, etc. I will repeat what I use at this point in time. I use LPS MICRO X as a cleaner for everything. It is not a gun product as it is an Electrical contact cleaner that is safe on all plastics and it dries within seconds after it is applied through an aerosol can. IT IS NOT A LUBRICANT IN ANY WAY. FOR LUBRICATION I USE MILITEC METAL CONDITIONER, and you can go to www.militec-1.com I give out samples to people but I do not sell it or any other product.

I like to use a moly coating that is baked on for a specific application like an AR15 bolt carrier or a pistol barrel. I usually air brush about 30 microscopic coats of this moly on a heated barrel and when dry I bake it in an oven on a special cradle my friend Bubba made for me. There is no way for me to spray the inside of the bore and even if I could a few shots and the moly coating would be gone. This moly coating is self lubricating and I find it works best with a very thin film of Militec on it.

To find really good products for baking on metal parts I had to search other industries like Automotive and Aircraft, etc. The gunsmithing supplies are in some ways 50 years behind current technology. Having these coatings on a barrel makes cleaning the barrel or bolt carrier much easier. I still use the Micro X made by LPS LABS. The newest option that I have used is ceramic coatings that come in all colors and vary in hardness. Again this is a good idea but it is not possible to use as many micro thin coatings and requires more work in its application. The Glock 19 I now carry has a barrel that has been sprayed and baked with a titanium ceramic coating.

I want to discuss cleaning a revolver so as to try and make it very clear to everyone. I have many enemies out there and these frauds still come here to read and learn because they have very limited knowledge, even though they pass them selves off as gunsmithing gurus. It depends on which revolver you own, for starters. The SW line of revolvers make it easy to remove the cylinder so you can clean the yoke and crane by removing the cylinder from the frame. If you own a Ruger or some Dan Wesson model revolvers I suggest you do not try and remove the cylinder.

I pull the hammer back on a revolver and spray into the action using the spout on my Micro X cleaner until it runs out clean. It will then dry immediately and I relube the revolver action using Militec by letting it run down into the action in front of the hammer. You can swing out the cylinder carefully and use a cleaning rod and the proper size jag with a product like Remington bore cleaner or the product of your choice. I personally do not use brushes but many people do. If you shoot lead bullets you will need to buy a lewis lead remover for your specific caliber and run it thru your leaded bore and each chamber if they show signs of lead.

When it is clean and you want to remove the discolored fouling from the front of the cylinder you can buy a product for this very specific application which should be available through www.brownells.com
I like to leave a very, very thin film of Militec most everywhere. I suggest that you remove the grips of your revolver and coat the frame with a very thin film of Militec gease. This will prevent rust and corrosion under your grips. I have seen hundreds of revolvers that had rust and pitting under the grips. This included stainless steel revolvers. Having a stainless steel revolver does not mean that it will not rust, these stainless steel handguns just contain chromium which helps retard rust, but they still must be maintained with proper cleaning and lubrication.

NEVER CARRY A FILTHY FIREARM, YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.

I always maintain my leather holsters with a DOW silicone product that is applied inside my holsters using a small tooth brush. It has always worked well for me. Some of the worst offenders that carry a filthy handgun are in law enforcement, shocking as it may sound that has been my experience. The military people are better trained at maintaining their weapons. Every handgun I have ever carried has been spotless. My attention to detail is far beyond most people as this is the way I have been all my life.

There are so many cleaning products out there and this also applies to lubricants and I have tried everyone I could get my hands on. I have been very pleased using LPS MICRO X and MILITEC METAL CONDITIONER. It took me years to research and try different baked on lubricants and then learning to use an air brush properly. Nothing came easy but it was well worth the effort. When I used to make custom 1911 pistols (past tense) I always air brushed the rails of the frame and the barrel and the inside of the slide. That is why they are so smooth to operate. It was very time consuming.

If you have any cleaning questions please email me at tjacobson@houston.rr.com
I will try and answer your questions but please keep it short as I get an awful lot of emails each day. There has been a slight delay in getting more pictures up on my new blogger www.truthaboutparts.blogspot.com
because the lamp in my scanner is gone and I am about to replace the unit so I can continue showing pictures that will amaze you.

Turkish discontent over Iraq
U.S. tries to assuage concerns over Kurds

On the eve of the Iraqi Freedom operation, Turkey decided to reject appeals made by then-Secretary of State Colin Powell to join the U.S.-led coalition.

Ankara’s new concerns and quiet, low-key anger over the situation in Iraq is mainly the result of deep concern over developments in the autonomous Kurdish district, especially over the activities of militant anti-Turkish Kurdish groups in northern Iraq. Turkey’s main nervousness pertains to the Kurdish Workers’ Party PKK, also known as the People’s Congress of Kurdistan, which since the early ‘80s, at times using a pseudonym, has been waging a bitter terror and guerrilla campaign against the central Turkish government.

The Turkish intelligence community, MIT, has no doubt the results of the first Gulf War in 1991 brought about the creation of a Kurdish de facto autonomous enclave with a main base in Arbil in northeast Turkey and created an immediate danger to Turkish national security. Further developments since 2003 have intensified the danger and brought to the surface a strategic debate in Turkey where military planners are currently determining the country’s military and drafting its goals for the 21st century.

Some continue to demand a strong hand policy against the Kurdish enclave in Iraq while others are ready to wait and see whether the new Iraq, with U.S. help, will be capable of forcing a de jura authority on them. During General Yasar Buyukamit’s four-day visit to the Pentagon he discussed the Syrian question and Damascus’ policies on Iraq, with top U.S. military planners. General Buyukamit’s hosts, obviously worried over Syria’s involvement in the Iraqi insurgency, requested clarifications on Turkish-Syria relations.

The U.S. regards these explanations as vital to fully understand all the nuances surrounding the improved relations between Ankara and Damascus. The U.S. is aware the chilly relations between the two neighbors must have thawed when Damascus agreed to curtail Kurdish activities inside Syria. The Turks point to a number of steps taken by Syria during the last two years. At the top are the demonstrative actions Syria undertook in 2004 when the Baath leadership reiterated a number of laws and rules limiting Kurdish activity, going so far as to totally ban any Kurdish nationalist activity.

Turkey was pleased when a Baath decision was taken not to change an old policy regarding Kurds as non-Syrian nationals. The immediate result of the enforced prohibitions was riots and tension among the 200,000 Syrian Kurds. A strong-hand policy exercised by the Syrian military and internal security resulted in dozens of Kurds killed in the riots, hundreds of wounded and close to 3,000 people, including teenagers and even children, detained.

About 600 of the detainees are still behind barbed wire near the infamous Syrian Palmyra prison. The international community and human rights groups condemned the Syrians for the way they handled the Kurds whereas Turkey was pleased and the Turkish intelligence even helped the Syrians by providing details on the PKK and other Kurdish nationalists. One of the immediate goals the U.S. wants to achieve through improving defense and military ties with Turkey is to increase sales of weapon systems of all types.

Pentagon officials expressed their interest, not only in selling U.S. made military products, but also in developing and building a variety of weapon systems, such as aircraft and helicopters, in joint ventures. The Pentagon undoubtedly aims at increasing its role in promoting national economic needs, especially through exporting expensive military hardware. Turkey, with her large military of 1,198,000 troops including reserves, needs major upgrading programs and is, therefore, an important market.

Pentagon and the Department of State strategy planners regard talks between Ankara and Moscow over the possibility of military cooperation as a red light. Washington, however, has to face a dilemma posed by Turkey, which is willing to continue her traditional ties with the U.S. but has attached a political “prerequisite” difficult to accept because it deals with U.S. interests in stabilizing Iraq.

Turkey cannot agree to a coalition policy whereby a de facto Kurdistan is emerging and where a variety of Kurdish groups, including some of Turkey’s archenemies, are making the best of a democratic environment imposed by the U.S. To emphasize this argument General Yasar Buyukamit mentioned that while he was visiting Washington suspected PKK terrorists raided a village in the Naradin district, killing, execution-style, family accused of collaborating with the Turkish army.

In response large Turkish forces conducted search-and-destroy missions in nearby mountains but halted at the Iraqi border. For how long will the Turkish military restrict operations along the 352-kilometer border is a burning question in the minds of the Iraqis and their coalition supporters. And for how long, following the elections and the beginning of the withdrawal of U.S. and coalition troops in 2006, will Buyukamit, the TAF’s future chief of staff, maintain a strategy of moderation.

Will he push for tough actions, which could put the Kurdish de facto autonomous region under pressure of the Turkish military’s full might? With Turkey’s army being a formidable force and without any doubt the strongest military in that part of the world, this question cannot be pushed aside lightly.

INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING
New Zealand braces for racial riots
Tension mounts following Australian unrest

Following the major race related riots in Sidney, Australia, prompting new emergency laws allowing the police to impose curfews and to prohibit alcohol beverages in certain tense situations and mass gatherings, tension is mounting in New Zealand as well.

Police in major cities reported racist posters appearing mainly in railway stations. The posters signed by such groups as White Power or The Skinheads’ Blood and Power, call upon New Zealanders to follow “the Australian example,” and to act against foreigners, especially against immigrants or refugees from the Middle East and Muslim countries. Bloodless coup attempt in the Philippines Using the fact President Glorya Macapagal Arroyo was attending the ASEAN summit in Kuala Lumpur, a retired general and former defense secretary, declared himself president and formed a 14 members government called the Coalition for National Solidarity.

Some of the reasons for this move are a general dissatisfaction with the president and her policies of appeasement towards Islamic groups. Special police forces and military police converged on the upscale Club Filipino where 300 supporters of General Fortunato Abat arrested the 80-year-old general and many of his supporters. Sources in Manila say a wave of purges began in the armed forces but without actual arrests of those agreeing with General Abat. Instead, the government instructed to suspend and re-assign a number of high-ranking officers, including a colonel and a son of the self proclaimed president, his son-law, a marines’ officer, and others.

The commander of the most important southern command of the Filipino army, General Adilberto Adan, acted against possible rebels in his command but was quick to criticize the government for what he describes as leniency towards two Muslim groups, Moro Islamic Liberation Front, MILF, and Moro National Liberation Front, MNLF, now negotiating with the government over a final peace accord which will see many members of these groups join the army.

The general instructed to stop any further recruiting efforts by the two major Muslim groups operating in Mindanao. Hezbollah security chiefs increase protection of leaders An attempt on the life of a senior Hezbollah official in the city of Baalbeq in the Beqa Valley prompted a decision by the organization’s top security personnel to increase protective measures for a number of leaders. In the failed attempt on the life of Sheikh Muhammad Yazbek a bomb exploded near his house seconds after he got out of his car.

Intelligence sources say the assassination attempt on the life of Yazbek is connected to two developments. The first regards the rivalry between various Hezbollah factions, the so-called Baalbeq group and the south Lebanese so-called Frontline group. The other issue derives from concerns within the Hezbollah Sunni groups close to the government will attempt to shake the organization following Syria’s withdrawal and the new reality in Lebanon. Sheikh Yazbek is known for his political attitude to solve problems the organization faces inside Lebanon rather than resort to the use of force.

Among those who support Yazbek and the Baalbeq group is Muhammad Raaed, head of the Resistance and Loyalty factions of Hezbollah in the Lebanese parliament. These events are now more acute following the assassination of Christian MP Gebran Tueni. Eritrea searching for allies An announcement in Eritrea’s capital Asmara severed diplomatic ties with Sudan is a thing of the past, is part of Eritrean dictator Asyas Afourki’s move to forge new regional alliances. Relations between the two African countries were severed 10 years ago amid accusation made by both sides each claiming the other party supports guerrilla movements.

Sudan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Lam Akoul who met the Eritrean president is known for his strong support of Sudan’s efforts to find allies as well. In a secret meeting the Sudanese minister told his host Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir is ready to work out a military cooperation agreement between the two countries. The Sudanese minister stated that both countries have similar cultural backgrounds with both Christian and Muslim populations. Iran’s fleet of midget submarines Naval intelligence sources say the Iranian navy is embarking on a program to develop a fleet of midget submarines.

The first of these vessels was launched prior to this month’s naval exercise close to the north Persian Gulf coastline. It is believed the Iranians based their project on the North Korean 350 tons SANG-O midget submarine. The North Korean models were first introduced in the 50s and have been undergoing gradual upgrading ever since. The Iranian midget submarine is apparently based on the hulk of a SANG-O model and is fitted with bottom hatches specifically designed to launch under water demolition teams or frogmen.

According to limited information from Iran the submarine is capable of carrying at least 15 raiders and is equipped with at least one torpedo tube. The presence of such weapon systems as an operational unit is considered a threat to coalition navies as well as to commercial shipping. A second model, also being developed, is smaller and resembles the WWII Imperial Japanese navy suicide midget submarines called Kaiten. Royal Marines doubt Yemen’s counter-terror preparedness Counter-terror training for members of the Yemeni coast-guard at a Djibouti training complex raised doubts among members of the British Royal Navy and Royal Marines as to the readiness level of Yemen’s naval anti-terror preparedness.

The training, conducted by British officers, included various scenarios of responding to terror attacks, such as hostage taking. A French source in the multinational force in the Horn of Africa said: “The Yemeni manpower taking part in the training was not motivated or professional.” Yemen has agreed to send some of its coast guard officers and NCOs to be trained by western counter-terror experts mainly because of the growing threat to international commercial shipping in the waterways leading from the Straits of Malacca to the Gulf of Oman.

Counter-terror experts examine New Zealand narco-terror cartel An announcement by New Zealand’s police stating a large Asian based methemphetamine ring was arrested, raised questions over the full range of connections the detainees have. In a synchronized police and customs department agents’ operation in Wellington, Oakland and Christchurch, 18, mostly Asian, people were arrested. Detective Inspector Paul Kench of the Christchurch police said: “The general public are not aware of what may be happening within different sub-cultures in the criminal underworld.”

The operation netted some NZ$500,000 worth of meth and shut down laboratories containing precursor chemicals for pseudoephedrine and methemphetamines. A few of the arrested were New Zealanders who frequently traveled in the Far East. What the police did not reveal is the wider investigation into the overseas connections of the Asian syndicate bosses, and their suspicion the cartel dealt with money laundering and other businesses on behalf of Thai and Malaysian Islamic militants involved in global jihad. India alliance concerns Pakistan Sources close to Pakistani President Pervez Musharaf have relayed to the U.S. their concern over the strengthening of India-Oman military ties.

Their concerns were also shared with other western diplomatic circles in Islamabad. The agreement between India and the Sultanate of Oman includes a time table for joint military training, visits by Indian naval units to the Sultanate and opening Omani air bases and ports for visiting Indian long range maritime surveillance aircraft. Pakistan is worried the new agreement will give India an important strategic asset because of the location of Oman in the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf, relatively close to the main Pakistani port of Karachi.

Pakistan wants India and the Sultanate to assure them the new agreement will not mean establishing a permanent Indian military presence in the strategic waters. South Korea weighs U.S. demand to shelve Israel AWACS A South Korean plan regarding the U.S.-based Gulf Stream aircraft industries and Israel to build a medium sized AWACS system designed by Israel and known as G-550, is now under strong pressure from Washington to shift from the original plan to an American offered E-X project designed by Boeing.

Washington’s pressure is so far being rejected by the South Korean air force saying all options were carefully examined before selecting the G-550 plan. In Israel circles close to Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz told G2B the issue is of great concern to Israel since on-going U.S. pressure on countries purchasing sophisticated Israeli systems is denying Israel of much needed funds for further research and development. Similar pressure brought in 2000 the cancellation of a mega project to build and deliver a large AWACS system to China.

U.S. pressures to prevent similar projects between Israel and India have failed. G2B has learned Israeli officials blame Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice of trying to hold back Israel’s military industry as leverage on other issues, predominantly the Palestinian-Israel crisis.

Activists called on 'Angels of destruction to kill Sharon Photo: AP

‘We prayed for Sharon’s death’

ROSH PINA - Right-wing activists claim they performed a “Pulsa Dinura” - a kabbalistic ceremony in which God is asked to curse someone who is believed to be a sinner - calling for the death of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
Some 20 right-wing activists participated in the ceremony, which took place at the ancient cemetery in Rosh Pina. According to the participants,
the ceremony was authorized by rabbis.
“It was a call for the angels of destruction to kill Arik Sharon,” Michael Ben-Horin, who participated in the ceremony, told Ynet. “The ceremony was intended for the angels of destruction, not for humans, as it would be futile for people to attempt it (assassinating Sharon) amid all the prime minister’s security.”
