Back on Track

WELCOME TO THE NO BS ZONE OF TEDDY JACOBSON

I have decided to bring everyone up to date about many things. I want to first thank all the good folks that are sending me such nice emails and that most people seem to enjoy my commentaries. I speak from experience and not some flunkie talking that has worked on a few handguns and now thinks he or she is a major player in the top 10 Pistolsmiths in the US and that in reality know very little. How these people even get the gall to give advice when they know so very little is beyond my comprehension. It has taken me since the early 1970's to learn as much as I have and yes I do have a black list of people that have aggravated the Shi-t out of me but it has never been published and not many have ever seen it. It is hand written in a small book that is barely legible using a ball point pen and the ink is very faded but I know who they are. If you are nice and play it straight with me and do not play both sides from the middle you will never get your name on this list. The people that are on my list deserve it and it is cast in concrete, I have just added a few more names but they deserve it. I DO NOT LIKE FREE LOADERS AND PEOPLE THAT WANT EVERYTHING (work) FOR FREE, IF A PERSON CHOOSES TO DO WORK FOR FREE THEN THEY ARE AS DUMB AS MY PET ROCK.

First let me thank all the Street Gun Project members for doing an outstanding job. They have all learned a great deal and so have I. It is almost over and every one who has fired their SA mil-spec has found it to be a tack driver with the original barrel. Using Mr. Camps excellent book and my video, which has explained it all as I do not now or will never teach gunsmithing of any kind to anyone in this life except a very select few which includes my son Charles.

For the people that have bad mouthed the Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 pistol, they are not even qualified to discuss anything with me. They think because they assembled two or three 1911 pistols they have become GURUS, they know nothing compared to me as I have worked on 7000 plus 1911 pistols and have cut approx. 10,000 hammers and sears, all by hand, no machines just using my jigs and my stones. I have an exact 90 degrees on all my hammer hooks. They are not even qualified to talk on my level of trigger work as their level of expertise is in the first grade level. I forgot more than they know. One particular person has badmouthed the SA Mil-Spec saying it was a poor foundation to start with, hes just full of sh-t because this project gun was never intended to become a custom pistol, it is just a superb street gun that will take a beating and come back ticking everytime. This person has "NO" qualifications to speak to me on my level of expertise, hes not even a good amateur. These people are free to give advice everywhere but they are not qualified in the Pistolsmithing field of experts, their claim to fame is ZIP, ZERO, ZILTCH, NADA. And how many articles have they been featured in ??? = SAME ANSWER.

As for any future Project Street Gun class, it will be confined to the G.I. model and their will be no exceptions. Their will be no ambi safeties installed in the next project. The one that has the G.I. Sight is fine (has US on the wood grips) or the one with the 3 dot sights. The stainless steel pistol mil-spec will not be allowed because the trigger track is not the same dimension. It will be done our way or no deal. No Colts or any other clones will be allowed. We will only have a limit of 10 people and that is cast in concrete and we have quite a few people already. Whether there will be a second project depends on my health and it also depends on the decision that Mr. Camp makes. I will never do this without Mr. Camp.

Springfield Armory has come a very long way, they have never made a better 1911 Mil-Spec model than they do today. I would like you to show me a better pistol for approx. $389.00 that is made as well, your high dollar production guns or your custom 1911's you are building do "NOT" have a better frame to slide fit. I do not care what gun you are talking about there is no equal for $389.00 for a complete 1911 pistol that is better to make a superb street gun. YOU DO NOT LIKE MY EVALUATION, TOUGH, DEAL WITH IT OR GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WORLD AS THIS IS MY PLACE AND I HAVE THE EXPERIENCE TO KNOW AND YOU DO NOT. You may be a know it all frustrated amateur but I am not.

The Mil-Spec 1911 I have in my safe is not mine but I will buy it because there is nothing better for the money. It does not matter one bit if it has a 2 piece barrel because I can never remember one ever coming apart. Mr. Camp has fired his SA mil-spec approx. 2000 rounds and it digests everything including every hollow point he has tried.

I have seen pictures put up of custom guns lately and it was an embarrassment to even look at them with the cheap plastic trigger and the poor finish. If I want a good finish I will send my pistol to a pro like Virgil Tripp and get it hard chromed. I DO NOT PUT MIM PARTS IN A $2500.00 plus PISTOL.

I am not politically correct but when you talk with me and have dealings with me you get the truth as I am the real deal and not some BS artist that is desperate for you to make my house payment or my Lexus payment. On the other hand I do very little work at this point in time because of my declining health and some day a gun with my logo on it will be worth a fortune. In some cases I am unable to put my logo on a handgun because of the finish as I use an acid etch. You can not say that about the wannabbeessssss. Dealing with them you get 100% of nothing.

I have turned down about 70 major jobs in the past 4 weeks and I will not deceive anyone. I will not tie up your pistol or revolver because of my problems as I always have your interest as my priority number one. I will continue to do a little work each week but no more and I will help all those sincere people that want to ask my advice. I will help you on the phone and tell you what your best options are. I will always be dedicated to the person that carries a handgun for protection of life and property.

There is no reason to carry a very expensive handgun for your very survival because if you even have a CHL and you must go into a building that does not allow a handgun on the premises then you must leave your gun in your vehicle and if its stolen and you have a large investment you will be heart broken. On the other hand if leave my Glock in a vehicle and lose it, one phone call to a wholesaler and I have a brand new Glock the very next day for $440.00 THAT IS REALITY. IF YOU GET IN A SHOOTING AND THE POLICE CONFISCATE YOUR HIGH DOLLAR GUN, THEY WILL ENGRAVE THE CASE NUMBER ON YOUR FRAME RUINING YOUR HANDGUN AND IF ITS IN THE POLICE PROPERTY ROOM FOR 6 MONTHS IT MAY GROW LEGS AND WALK AWAY. THAT IS THE REAL WORLD YOU BETTER FACE UP TO.

I am always available to help the honest sincere gun owner on the phone that is tired of the BS and wants straight honest answers. I may not do a great deal of work at this time but I am able to discuss any of the 100 different models that I am familiar with intelligently. These other blow hards all revolve around the 1911 pistol that is almost 100 years old. To this day they still do not get it and are still telling you to use a punch with your non existant third hand when re- assembling your 1911 pistol and inserting your slide stop because they do not know how to set it up correctly. THEY JUST DO NOT KNOW. The 1911 was designed to field strip in seconds using "NO" tools.

I will continue to copy many of Stephen Camps articles with his permission as we all learn from them. Just look at my counter it is at about 120,000 plus and has not been up that long. These other self proclaimed blow hards could not get this amount of hits in 5 years. I have no objection doing commentaries for products that I think will help all of you. I will start to do more knife commentaries also as time allows. Should you have a specific interest please email me.

OF COURSE ALL MY COMMENTARIES PAST AND PRESENT ARE MY OWN OPINION AND MY OWN VIEWPOINT. YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DISAGREE WITH ME BUT YOU BETTER HAVE A DECENT RESUME BEHIND YOU TO EVEN TALK WITH ME ABOUT MY AREA OF EXPERTISE OR I WIL PUT YOU IN YOUR PLACE. I AM A TRIGGER SPECIALIST AND NOT A GENERAL PISTOLSMITH OR GUNSMITH. THIS PERTAINS ONLY TO THE SELF PROCLAIMED EXPERTS. DO NOT TELL ME YOU ARE A MEDICAL EXPERT OR CAR SALESMAN OR A WALMART EMPLOYEE AND YOU ARE ONE OF THE TOP 10 HANDGUN EXPERTS IN THE COUNTRY THAT ONLY WORK ON PISTOLS PART TIME. MY FIRST QUESTION IS HOW MANY ARTICLES HAVE YOU BEEN FEATURED IN DURING THE PAST 25 OR 30 YEARS IN THE MAIN GUN PUBLICATIONS BY MAJOR WRITERS OF OUR TIME.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM ARRANGING THE GEOMETRY OF CUTTING HAMMERS AND SEARS AND I DO "NOT" NEED TO SEE THE FRAME. I can cut all the parts that will drop in any 1911 pistol without seeing the pistol. That is only a very small part of what I do. For those that have my revolver actions please do "NOT" sell them as they will grow in value as my era comes to an end in due time.
