Smoke and Mirrors

I am not going to make any friends with what I am about to tell you, but the BUCK STOPS HERE. I am going to explain some eye opening observations.
First lets talk about buying critical parts for your handguns. If you own a RUGER or TAURUS and you need what these companies list as a critical part such as a SEAR, lets say its worth $1.00, this critical part is not for sale to you or me. You must return your handgun back to the factory and with the cost of priority over nite shipping and insurance be prepared to spend at least $40.00 MINIMUM each way.

I have been told that COLT PARTS have gone up in price from 300 to 400 percent. Some Colt parts are very difficult to find. A 1911 Colt SEAR and DISCONNECTOR are a casting and are nickle plated, for those of you that are confused.

If you are buying or have bought a 1911 Springfield Armory pistol in STAINLESS STEEL, look carefully and you will see that the Hammer, Grip Safety, Recoil Guide Plug, Mainspring Housing, Slide Stop, Plunger Tube, Pins, Magazine Catch Assembly, Barrel Bushing, etc, etc. THEY ARE NOT STAINLESS STEEL. They are hard chrome plated carbon steel finished to look like Stainless steel. The Frame and the Slide are Stainless Steel. You are not getting a fully Stainless steel pistol.

When you buy a Stainless Steel Beretta 92F, the side and barrel are stainless steel but the frame is silver colored anodized aluminum. Buying a top dollar Beretta Brigadier gives you a Plastic Guide Rod.
Taurus makes a small semi auto that must be re assembled while it is in the upside down position.

Want to buy TITANIUM ??? WHY ??? Ask what percentage of Titanium is in the frame or the part, the usual COP OUT ANSWER you will receive is, "IT'S COMMERCIAL GRADE" , What does that mean, I do not know, and neither do they.
Want to buy a TITANIUM revolver ??? If Titanium is so strong as they claim, why do the Titanium revolvers always have a steel barrel liner ??? Titanium is not as hard as good quality steel and its too flexible to use as a rifled barrel. The word TITANIUM = $$$$$$$$$$$..
Its marketing geniuses that tell the companies what direction to go. And they are very smart.

All new S&W third Generation semi autos now come with a plastic disconnector, WHY ? Is that a good way to save money?, (not in my opinion) the plastic disconnector works but I would rather have steel.

Want to buy a very high dollar 1911 production pistol, but you can not rack the slide, the manufacturer and or the salesman tells you that it has to break in. If the barrel is not fit properly where the bottom barrel lugs interface with the slide stop pin or the top lugs are not fit properly or where the barrel hood interfaces with the breech face or the barrel bushing is not fit right, all this improper fitting will cause the slide from opening smooth as glass as it should.

Need Custom Gun Work to refine your handgun. Do you want PACKAGE A, or PACKAGE B, or PACKAGE C, all at different levels of refinement and elevated prices.
I will only refine a handgun at one basic price on any of the 100 different models of handguns that I work on. Of course there are some options that people do want.
I would never offer different levels of my Action Work for additional money. I always do it the best possible way in order to give the customer the best internal work that is humanly possible.
