Militec-1 Lubricant

WELCOME TO THE NO BS ZONE OF TEDDY JACOBSON

I am a Trigger man, I specialize in handgun actions on over 100 different models. I am not a Chemist or a lubrication engineer or a metalurgist. I know handgun actions as well as anyone in North America if not better. That is mainly what I do. My life is very simple as all I ever do is work, that is all I know, I have no time for the BS that other people thrive on. I have no time for forums or chat rooms and I do not troll the gun forums for work. I always wondered that if these SMITHS had as much work as they claim how do they have so much time to spend in front of their computer. I will not BS anyone whether its a friend or customer or a gun writer or an editor. These people in power in the gun business are just on an ego trip and it don't mean shit to me. Let them live in their fantasy world of BS, nothing last forever, its just temporary.

I want to talk about lubrication. I have used every type of metal conditioner and lubrication I could ever get my hands on. I look beyond a gunsmithing supply book. I will go to any industry regardless of what that could be and what it costs.
I am only interested in giving my customers the very best lubrication and or product money can buy. I have no agenda and I pay for the lubrication that I use.

Many years ago I used Tetra gun oil and I liked it but the down side was that it effected some plastic, especially the finish on some grips. I stopped using it many years ago. There are many good lubricants, you could even use Mobil 1 in a firearm but it is to wet in certain climates. I found that the Teflon products were no good for MY APPLICATION because the Teflon particles did not remain in suspension, at least for me they did not. The bottle always said SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING. I always asked myself if I shake it up and get everything mixed together and then put some into my handgun actions what happens when the Teflon particles separate in my gun. I do not know.

I understand that the sand in Iraq and in the middle east in general is very fine like a powder. I have never seen it but I get emails from the troops all the time. If you have a gun, whether it be a rifle or a handgun that has a lot of wet oil, it will attract this fine sand like a magnet and your firearm will no longer be operational. You must use a lubricant but it must be on the dry side to maintain operational status.

The way I have always checked which lubricants work best for my particular application is as follows.
If I have two Beretta 92F pistols and I refine both of them doing the exact same procedure and I use one brand of lubricant in one Beretta and another lubricant in the second Beretta, I can then put my trigger pull gauge and check both the Double Action and the Single Action trigger pull. I can then see which lubricant is giving me the lowest poundage by cutting down the friction of the moving parts.
I also need to have a lubricant that I can wipe down and still have a film to cut down the friction.

It does not end there because with todays current generation of firearms many are made with polymer. I must have a lubrication that will not attack any kind of polymer and in cases where a set of wood grips are finished with polyurethane, I can not afford to ruin a set of grips costing $100.00 give or take. My problems never end in the handgun business as I will not settle for anything but the very best. In a world of compromise I will not, at any cost. I can not be bought like these other people. Keep your free guns and keep your money and keep your gifts, just allow me to purchase the very best product money can by.

I HAVE BEEN USING MILITEC-1 for many years. And yes I pay for the MILITEC I USE. I found this to be the very best firearms lubricant for my application of handgun actions. I do give out samples of Militec with every handgun I return to my customers. I do "NOT" sell MILTEC, I do not have a retail shop. I just work in a room full of tools all day long by myself with no help and do my work.
I have had nothing but very good results using Militec lubricant in handguns as well as rifles. I do AR15 trigger work for local police, when they have a problem.

I have never been a fan of using to much grease, because it attracts dirt, burned and unburned powder like a magnet. I have grown to like and use Militec grease as it has a lithium base and about 15% is made of Militec. It works very well in the rails and locking lugs of a semi auto pistol. I use Militec grease in mainspring housings also. It will not effect plastic in my experience of using it in many applications, thru the years. I also give these samples of Militec grease to my customers, whether they be civillians or Police or Military. I just recommend using it very sparingly and a very little goes a long way.

Another way I use Militec is to treat a barrel or parts from a semi auto pistol. I bought a decent size pot to heat up Militec liquid on a stove. I get the temperature to about 150 degrees and I drop in barrels and parts so that the heat will open the pores of the steel and the Militec gun oil will penetrate the steel. I have even done this many times to my own handguns, it will be easier to clean your bore if you follow this procedure.
You can also just put Militec on the barrel and in the bore and use a heat gun or a small oven to heat it.

For the best approach I suggest you call the people at Militec and get their recommendations on how they do it. They will give you the temperature that they recommend and for how long to do this procedure. I just do it my own way and it works very well for me. Call 877 222 5512 or email them at militec@militec-1.com
their website is www.militec-1.com
If you call ask to speak to Russ or Brad, they will be more than willing to help you with your questions.

You will find by using Militec lubricant that there is no mixing and nothing to shake up, IT IS WHAT IT IS, pure and simple. It is the best lubricant I have found for my action work. Militec is now being used in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN by American and allied forces in order to keep their weapons operational.
These very demanding climates have proved that this is the product that works best of all. You can get a better chemical background from calling
militec direct because I just use it and I know the results it gives me and my customers whose lives depend on me and the products I ask them to use.
