Most of my questions revolve around what to purchase in todays world of advertising BS and articles that never say a bad word about any product because of Personal agendas that I do not agree with. At my age I certainly have no agenda except seeing tomorrow. I have no desire to have more articles written about my work at this point in time. I just want to do my trigger work and give you a better handgun that will give you the edge that I hope you will never need. We are in for some very difficult days ahead and this is certainly not the world I grew up in.

I believe all of you should use common sense when you decide what to purchase and look at things realistically. There are no experts or trainers that can predict how you will react at the defining moment if and when your life is on the line. Only you and your split second decisions will ever define how you will react. You must select the best handgun for your purpose regardless of what anyone tells you. For example, A person with a large hand has no business carrying a Walther PPK or PPK/S because when firing the pistol the slide will cut the web of a persons large hand instantly. For other people the Walther may be fine to use.

Select a handgun that is best for you, do not buy anything sight unseen. You must go to a gun shop and put the pistol or revolver in your hand and see what feels best. You must see what you will feel comfortable with if you intend to carry it or just use it for home protection. There is nothing wrong with a revolver, but most are not the revolvers of yester year. You do not need "MACHO" calibers. Having a caliber that you can feel comfortable shooting and the selection of a particular bullet will make all the difference if you practice putting the shots in vital areas. Its bullet placement, Repeat, ITS BULLET PLACEMENT. Forget the BS that you MUST have this or that gun or caliber.

Call your friendly neighborhood Coroner or a criminal pathologist and ask him or her what they see about effects of different calibers on dead bodies. That will tell you more about the evaluations that you could read in gun publications or forums in 5 years. You must be able to own a pistol or revolver you can use in an enclosed area without losing your hearing, NEVER BUY A PORTED HANDGUN FOR SELF DEFENSE, ITS A FLAME THROWER. Buy a caliber that you can get ammo when hard times come. People may laugh at me because I carry a Glock 27 or an HK P7 M8 or a SW 642. I assure you they could not handle 2 well placed vital shots from any one of these calibers. Its all hype and macho BS. I will let the experts carry their 230 grain ball ammo and I will stay with Magsafe or Triton or Corbon HP, using ultra high velocities that vaporize organs.

When I needed a Colt 1911 in 45 acp it let me down, thats why I dedicated years and years of my life to making a 1911 work flawlessly as I do now. Maybe other SMITHS might snicker at the elaborite internal parts and labor I spend working on a 1911 or any other handgun, but I do not care what they think, as long as I make the best internal action that is humanly possible.

You need to have extra magazines for your semi autos. You need extra springs of all kinds and you need plenty of spare ammunition. I am trying to come up with a better primer sealer at this point in time. I am never satisfied with products unless I am convinced that I am using the best this world has to offer. I am very pleased using MILITEC lubricant (www.militec-1.com) as I have been using it for years. I use ALESSI HOLSTERS and his velcro belts. I use quality knives, I would not ever buy a cheap knife. If you want a good strong folder look at a COLD STEEL VOYAGER, CRKT model M16, BENCHMADE 630, etc, these are serious blades.

All women that carry a handgun should own a good handbag such as made by CORONADO LEATHER COMPANY.

Not all POLICE keep a clean and properly lubricated firearm. Many LEO people I have known have little interest, except when it comes to qualifying. I think the FEDS as a general rule are in many ways more interested in the upkeep of their handguns. My opinion only. You must think differently, you must look at your defense weapons as the best friends you have in this world. If you read publications and visit forums, that is ok but look at it like I do as "ENTERTAINMENT" . Not every gun writer is as good as John Taffin or Gila Hayes or Stephen Camp.

You will never understand how it feels to know that your favorite handgun on your hip or in your pocket is so very important until you have been in some very defining situations like I have. Thats why I keep telling you this same scenario, it could happen to you and I want you to be prepared. Care for your handgun or your knife and its acessories as they are a very important part of your personal life. Always look at what all the elite law enforcement people are using and ask them and yourself how and why did they come to select what they carry. Ask the right people, stay away from the BS. For example, why do almost 40,000 NEW YORK CITY POLICE CARRY A GLOCK PISTOL ??

YOU ARE THE WEAPON, THERE IS NO MAJIC BULLET.
(thanx Terry) GET THIS IN YOUR HEAD FORGET THE BS. PRACTICE BULLET PLACEMENT........

If I can point you in the right direction email me or call me, I will present your options, but I will not decide for you. I have no agenda, Mr. Franklin does not live in my house.
