My Opinion - Straight answers

WELCOME TO THE NO BS ZONE OF TEDDY JACOBSON

My time has been consumed with working on a custom Commander for an Admiral and I do appologize for not having the time for my daily commentary. I decided this commentary will give you some no BS answers of what I think of current and past products. I DO NOT CARE WHO GETS PISSED OFF, TOUGH, IF THEY CAN NOT DEAL WITH IT LEAVE NOW.

PISTOLS:

Beretta 92F - I like this pistol and own many. It is my gun of choice around my property. I have no problem recommending it. I like all the 92F versions and my favorite was the "CENTURION" which is no longer in production.

Beretta 96F - I like the gun but I would no longer buy most any 40 caliber handgun because I find it not only less accurate but this caliber beats up these guns bad. 96F has problems after 5000 rounds.

Beretta 85 - These 380 acp caliber pistols work well but are much to big for a 380 size gun. They are not easy to work on. I would buy one if I wanted a large 380 caliber.

Beretta Tomcat - I would never buy this gun or any other tiny Beretta, there are better choices. This trigger pull is brutal and its difficult to work on.

Beretta Cougar - I like this pistol and only in 9mm, I keep one of these loaded all the time on my property. It has never malfuntioned using any type or brand of ammo. I baked a moly on the rotating barrel.

Beretta 9000 - I have never worked on this pistol. I know very little about it.

Sig Sauer 230, 232 - This is a reliable 380 acp providing you do not limp wrist it because it will jam. Its to big for a 380. The plastic grips are effected by cleaning agents. Not my favorite handgun.

Sig Sauer 228 - This is the only Sig pistol I own, it is a good performer as long as you retain the factory finish and never plate the barrel. It has the sig reset hammer design.

Sig Sauer 226 - This is a larger version of the 228 and it holds a larger supply of ammo. It is a well made Sig pistol favorored by Law enforcement. It has the reset hammer design.

Sig Sauer 220 - This is a very reliable 45 acp handgun that many LEO's carry. It also has the reset hammer design which I personally do not care for, just another spring to break. This is one of the best 45 pistols made.

Sig Sauer 239 - This is the best Sig pistol made in my opinion. It is rock solid. This is the only sig I would like to have in 357 sig caliber. It has a totally different reset spring design that I have never seen one to break.

Sig Sauer 210 - This is a premium high dollar Sig pistol that is top of the line and it is flawless and accurate and does not need any work. Never let anyone talk you into working on this gun.

Sig Sauer 1911 - This is a very heavy 1911 pistol with a light rail that makes no sense to me. I have improved quite a few of these pistols internally. Would I buy one ??? "NO" They buy parts from various manufacturers.

HK P7 M8, M13 - This is the creme of the crop. This in my opinion is the very best 9mm this world has to offer. Its well made and very expensive and takes extra training to adapt to the front strap cocking design, but worth the effort. Ideal for the the south paw like me. 9mm only...

HK USP - This is made to compete with the Glocks and Sigs and Beretta pistols and has really grown on me to the point that I own one in 45 acp. It is too bulky for me to carry in the compact version but it is accurate and reliable.

Glock 26, 27, 33 - These are my very favorite small handguns. I have been carrying one for many years. I do not shoot it a great deal but it does not get any more reliable than these pistols. If I had extra money I would buy a few more.

Glock 32 - This is a small rocket launcher in 357 sig caliber. Its a wonderful pistol if you want reliability and power. Ammo would be difficult to find in hard times.

Glock 23 - This 40 caliber pistol is their mediun frame and its a very well made and reliable performer. I like all Glock pistols, call it ugly or what ever but it works every time.

Glock 17 - This is the large frame high capacity pistol favored by many that want shear fire power and reliability. This is one serious pistol for a social encounter that is very hard to beat. Would I buy one ??? YES

Glock 19 - This is a medium frame, the same size as the 23 and the 32 only this gun is chambered in 9mm. I think this is the best of the Glock pistols when you want to compromise size and capacity. This is one of the best choices available on this planet in 9mm.

Glock 21, 30, 36 - These are all 45 acp pistols. The 21 is the full size model for a big hand, there have been extractor problems with the 21 but Glock has corrected that. The 30 is the medium size frame but still to heavy for me to carry, it is a solid performer. The 36 is the very best small 45 caliber pistol that I know of and it is flawless if kept clean using good FACTORY AMMO.

Glock - I have covered the most popular Glock pistols, There are other models I know I have not mentioned. They use a 3.5 lb connector in their target guns that I do not like. The Glocks that are ported should not be carried for self defense in my opinion.

CZ and Clones - These are very reasonably priced handguns for many people. I am more interested in internal quality that they offer. Would I buy one ??? NO Are they reliable in operation ??? YES

Makarov - This 9x18 caliber pistol is the best buy in AMERICA. They are a superb handgun in the single stack version only.

Browning HP - In 9mm this is truly a classic handgun that is the best feeling handgun when in your hand. I would never buy the 40 caliber version but in 9mm its very hard to beat providing you like the single action like I do.

Daewoo - These Korean made pistols works well but is nothing that I would ever buy. These pistols are not anything I want to own. They are reliable, and hard to work on.

Desert Eagle - The large size DE would be fine if my name was Arnold Swartzenneggerrrr. I can barely pull the slide back, they are reliable. They are difficult to work on but I do it all the time.

FEG - Hungarian pistols that are priced right and poorly made inside. I like Hungarian women better.

Helwan Brigadier - Good pistol for the money. I have worked on many of them thru the years. They are very inexpensive.

Kahr - These DAO pistols are very popular. I work on them all the time. I have no interest in owning another one. I can give you a much better trigger pull without cutting any springs.

Baby Eagle - This is a good reliable handgun. This is not the kind of pistol I would want to own. They are reliable.

Mauser HSC - This is a very tough gun to work on and it often has feeding and extraction problems. I have corrected many of them.

Seecamp - These little pistols look far better on the outside than they do on the inside. I owned one in the past but they are too expensive in my opinion and its hard to deal with a factory that just has an answering machine.

Taurus - I will not get into specific models. Their prices are very good and many people like these handguns, but I am not one of them. In my youth I would have been more interested in Brazilian women.

NAA Guardian - This is my favorite small handgun. It is very well made even though the frame is made by Kahr. The owner SANDY CHISHOLM is a stand up guy. This is the best of the mini autos, now available in 25 NAA and 32 NAA caliber.

Ruger - This line of semi autos are priced right. There are too many models for me to get into detail here. These are all cast handguns and some have synthetic frames. These pistols are bulky but work well. I have neved had a desire to own one.

Walther - I have worked on most of these Walther models and they are very popular with some people. The P88 is the top of the line high capacity pistol and the P99 is the newest version that people seem to like. Acessories are always hard to find when new models come out.

S&W - This third generation of S&W pistols is very reliable. They are not super accurate because the crown at the muzzle is the worst I have ever seen. It can be corrected. My favorite model is the 3913 in 9mm. They are using some plastic parts, there are no metal replacement parts that I know of.

Bersa - This Argentine pistol is very popular with many people as they are cost effective. In my younger days I was more interested in Argentine women. Many people are very pleased with these pistols. I very seldom take one in to work on.

Keltec - These small pistols are used by many people. I do not personally care for them but its really what you like and I do not work on these small semi autos.

I WILL COVER REVOLVERS AND 1911 PISTOLS IN ANOTHER COMMENTARY. I AM VERY PRESSED FOR TIME TODAY BUT I WILL CONTINUE THIS TYPE OF EVALUATION IN A DAY OR TWO. THIS LIST WAS NOT WRITTEN IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER.
