Carried by 6 or Tried by 12

WELCOME TO THE NO BS ZONE OF TEDDY JACOBSON

First let me say something to the person that feels the need to discuss me and my work in negative comments on these brain dead forums or chat rooms. If I find out you have a problem you should be coming to me first and not discussing anything you think I said or you think I have done with these brain dead morons on these chat rooms. Sadly this internet has made experts in all phases of life overnite when so many of these experts do not have an elevator that goes up to the top floor, to put it more bluntly, they could not not find their a-- with both hands. I will totally wash my hands of ever helping anyone that I know has even ventured to discuss me on these inferior chat rooms of any kind. I mean what I say. I am the first to admit I am a no nonsense type of person that may be straight talking but I am not rude to anyone. I have always told it like I see it in the real world. You want BS go some where else.

I have decided to discuss the real world of survival on the streets because that is all I have ever known from day one. I have not been able to write a new commentary everyday because of the over whelming phone calls and emails I have been getting. YES, I have semi retired and I will still do some work but if you have a gun that has been worked on by anyone please do not call me. As my health has declined I just can no longer handle these kind of jobs that take me three times as long and its not worth the strain on my neck and shoulders anymore. I am still here to help guide decent people into making correct and logical decisions on their behalf, not on mine.

When a kid grows up on the streets of a tough area of most any city he or she soon finds out that only the strong survive. Its the timid and the meek that are always picked on and bullied and even are shaken down for their lunch money at school.
If a kid shows and exhibits fear these bullies will just plain destroy him or her. The parents or the Police can do nothing until a crime has been committed, which is often too late. When I was a kid in Brooklyn, it was not a bad place to live but there was the street wise kids that survived a whole lot better than the kids that would not fight back. You were tested every day by someone. Kids used to hide their lunch money in their shoes because there was always the stronger bullies that would search you for your lunch money unless you were known to actually fight back at all cost. Please keep following me on this as I am leading to the main topic.

I grew up knowing some masters in the martial arts very well. I have been on trips with them and unfortunately, most are now dead. Some are names you might even recognize. Most all of the ones I knew very well always carried a gun. Some of these people broke, 7 - one inch boards with their fist, these were tough guys, I was there, I know. I once asked one of these people who was taking a 3000 mile trip with me if he thought we needed a gun and his answer was, YOU NEVER KNOW. These people were trained for any eventuality. I had a conversation one time with the owner of a chain of Karate schools and I knew him very well and he always carried a briefcase with him everywhere. One day he opened it and showed me his very large SW revolver, it looked like a model 29.

The reason I am writing this kind of commentary is because my friend Jess and I were discussing the actual training that some of these people are going thru at places like Thunder Ranch and The Chapman Academy and others like it. I have no doubt you can be trained to shoot very well at paper targets or plates under timed conditions. These instructors may or may not be the real deal, I have no way of determining that. I do believe that these training centers are very good but it goes beyond that because its really not how good you become under ideal controlled conditions, ITS YOUR MINDSET THAT IS THE KEY TO SURVIVAL. The rest is important but its the mind that controls your very survival and the rest is BS. If you can shoot a one inch group at 25 yards with your handgun or you can take your rifle and shoot a one inch group at 100 yards, that is superb, but that does not make you have the street wise survival instinct you must have in order to survive in the streets or in this world.

I have seen kids in the Karate school and boxers that did very well in their school fights, they were very skilled. In a Karate school they just tape off a 20 x 20 ft. ring, actually using tape on the floor in many cases. Take that same nice middle class kid and drop him off alone in any ghetto in the US and not only is he terrified but he has a lapse of memory of his skills as fear over comes his training. Again in my opinion its all in the mind set. This is something that can not easily be taught. Sadly many Police are gunned down each year all over America because they hesitated, they wanted to make sure as there instructors told them that the shooting must be legally justified. For example, if some one pulls a knife on me from 20 feet away, thats is a threat but from a distance that does not justify me shooting him (Clarification thanks to Raven, My Glock or my HK P7 would be in my hand regardless of how far the attacker was from me holding his knife). As the knife attacker gets closer my life becomes more in jepardy and the red flag goes up telling me that if hes with in 5 feet or less its time to take him out.

In the final analysis its you that must determine your actions, sure they must be justified and legal but its your mind that must be trained which is far more important than whether you can shoot a paper target at 25 yards performing a group of 1 inch. PAPER TARGETS ARE BS, PHYSICAL TRAINING IS CERTAINLY IMPORTANT, BUT IF YOUR MIND IS NOT TRAINED TO ACTUALLY TAKE A LIFE AND MAKE THAT LIFE AND DEATH DECISION INSTANTLY YOU WILL BE CARRIED BY 6 AND YOU WILL NOT BE TRIED BY 12.
There is no way I can change a thing by writing a strong commentary like this, my only intent is to get you to think about what I am saying.

Some times when I leave this place to run a few errands with my wife I often think is today the day that some one is going to try and make the mistake of robbing this old man. I always say to myself, I hope no one is that stupid, because the last thing I want now is to get in a shoot out, but I do have the mindset to survive. I never carry extra ammunition. I will either make it in the first two rounds or I will not. I always carry a very well made knife. I trained using a knife over 35 years ago, do I want to use one ?? Of course not. Would I use one if I had to ?? Of course.

When my father was an old man about one year before he died, he and my mother went to the shopping mall in Miami. This was routine for him and he was very sick. Some kids tried to attack him and steal his money in broad daylight. My father never carried a handgun and when he came home he was unhurt but quite upset. My brother and I had a good description of them and their car, we searched for them for about 6 hours and all I can say is that they were lucky that we never found them. That was there lucky day. They had the chance to survive another day.

To sum it all up let me say that good training in the operational skills of using a handgun and or a knife are essential. You must be trained in this procedure. You must carry a clean gun as your life depends on it. You must "NEVER" carry ammunition unless the primers are sealed. This is just the basic mechanics of where you must start. Buying a gun for your home and never learning to use it is a terrible mistake. ITS A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY. IF YOU HAVE TAKEN THESE COMBAT COURSES, DO NOT BE MISLED THAT YOU HAVE BEEN TRAINED FOR ANY EVENTUALITY. ITS A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY. If your mind has not been trained you can not win a gunfight, its that simple. I do not care how good you can shoot at paper or under controlled conditions, your mindset is number one. In the very end only you can decide if you will be carried by 6 or tried by 12.

How can you train your mind, you must talk with people that have been there and done that for starters. Your fear may take over when its critical and you may freeze up, you will never know until that day comes, lets hope it does not. Americans have basically lived the good life and look at the enemy we now face in the Islamic terror world, they do not hesitate in cutting your head off without a second thought. Look at all the uproar in DC over some humiliation of a few prisoners by Americans. ITS ALL BS, THESE POLITICIANS DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE MINDSET OF THE EMEMY. These terrorist are brainwashed from day one and are indoctrinated in killing Americans and how can you expect the average american kid to understand that type of upbringing and mindset.

The only time a peace can be negotiated in a war is when there is a defined loser. This current generation has lost the will to win, they have the will to fight to contain but not the will to win. Now Harry Truman would know what to do.
Brittain and Israel have also lost the will to win, they just are willing to fight to contain. This is our downfall.
